Stefan Oosthuysen, founder of Ebony & Ivory Catering & Event Management, has turned his vocation for the culinary arts into a passionate love affair with food. Sixteen years ago, armed with a dream, Stefan set out to create moments of joy, connection, and celebration through his love of cooking. With this vision in mind, he established Ebony & Ivory, setting out to deliver excellence in the culinary landscape and elevate the art of event management in South Africa.

Stefan's culinary journey began in Pretoria, where he earned his degree in Food Service Management in 1995. His passion for food then led him to a private hospital, where he honed his skills for three years. In 1998, he made a pivotal move to the gastronomic haven of Franschhoek where his career skyrocketed and as the dynamic restaurant manager at Franschhoek Wine Cellars, he transformed the dining experience over two remarkable years.


Stefan then took on a new challenge, overseeing the food and beverage operations at Boschenmeer Golf Course where he orchestrated the complex culinary logistics with finesse and flair for eight years. In 2008, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Stefan founded Ebony & Ivory. Today, it stands as a testament to his dedication and expertise, delivering exceptional culinary experiences that delight and inspire.


To Stefan, catering goes beyond the serving of foods, and feels it is an irreplaceable part in the creating an unforgettable experience, and it is precisely this attitude that has propelled Ebony & Ivory to prominence within the industry over the years. Their well affiliated with prestigious events and venues, ranging from Highberry in Somerset West to other renowned locations such as Goedgeleven and Deanie landgoed.

Ebony & Ivory pride themselves on their quality of work and innovative cuisines, utilising a combination of seasonal, fresh, and locally sourced produce.
