Noordhoek’s artistic community was on a full display recently for the Noordhoek Open Studios. Over two inspiring days, more than 350 people stepped through studio doors, garden paths and gallery spaces, experiencing art in its most personal and authentic form - and in doing so, helped raise an impressive R45,000 for Masi Sports.
The annual event, spearheaded by local artist and Noordhoek Art Point Gallery owner, Aimee Kruger, once again proved that creativity and community go hand in hand.
“There was such a beautiful energy across the valley all weekend,” says Kruger. “To see so many people - from our local community, across Cape Town, and even visitors from further afield - coming together to support artists and a cause like Masi Sports was incredibly special. It really reminded us why we started Open Studios in the first place.”
Visitors were invited to explore 28 studios, engaging directly with artists, gaining insight into their creative processes, and discovering the stories behind each piece. But beyond the art, the impact of the weekend extended far wider.
All proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Masi Sports, an organisation dedicated to creating access to structured sports and arts programmes for children in Masiphumelele. The R45,000 raised marks a meaningful step forward in supporting the next generation, giving young people the opportunity to explore creativity and build confidence through both sport and art.
“What makes this event so powerful is that it’s not just about what happens inside the studios,” Kruger adds. “It’s about what happens beyond them - the opportunities we’re able to create for young people through Masi Sports. That’s where the real magic lies.”
